当代形象学视角下《侠女奴》汉译本研究

A Contemporary Imagological Approach to the Translation Studies of Xia Nü Nu

  • 摘要: 本研究在当代比较文学形象学理论的关照下对比细读《侠女奴》的原文本与译文本,并结合译本特定的社会历史语境,对周作人在汉译本《侠女奴》中偏离原作的"异域他者形象"进行解读。研究发现原作中女奴身上具备的"侠"特质启发译者动用中国侠客小说中经典女侠形象的典型化特征对原作进行补充,使其在"行侠之举"方面重塑出一个符合中国文化期待的侠女形象,译者建构的异域形象折射出译者自我对新女性的期待和想象。《侠女奴》译本最终呈现出"尚武豪侠"的女侠形象是原作的异域形象、译者所处时代本土集体的想象和译者自我对异域他者形象想象三方的融合。通过本研究,希望读者对此译作中译者建构的异域女性形象有更深层次的理解,同时希望加深和拓宽比较文学形象学视角下翻译研究的深度和广度。

     

    Abstract: In the framework of contemporary Imagology within the discipline of Comparative Literature, this study focuses on the hetero-image of Xia Nü Nu alienated from the original by carefully contrasting the source text and the target text, and exploring the social and historical context in the early 20th century.It is the "chivalrous" characteristic of the female slave in the original that inspired the translator to supplement the original with the typical characteristics of the classic female knight (nüxia) in Chinese wuxia novels.The hetero-image constructed by the translator reflected his expectation and imagination of New Women.The image of the "other" reconstructed in the target text incorporates the image of the "other" in the original, collective imagination shared by the translator's community and the translator's own imagination of the "other".Through this study, it is hoped that a deeper understanding of the hetero-image constructed by the translator may shed light on further translation studies from the perspective of Imagology.
