Abstract:
The validity of experiments refers to the degree of accuracy and validity of research results, and it is a core indicator of the quality of experiments. This article makes a detailed analysis of the threats to the validity of eye-movement experiments in Translation Process Research (TPR) based on the validity typology (internal validity, statistical conclusion validity, external validity and construct validity) proposed by
Cook & Campbell (1979).A series of counter-measures are proposed to improve the research design and quality of eye-movement experiments in translation process research, in the hope of providing directions for future research.
