Abstract:
The dialects in the classics of Chinese medicine are variants of the standard language with strong regional and cultural characteristics. The geographical limitations and complexity of the semantics of the dialects have brought challenges to the translation and international communication of the classics of Chinese medicine. Not only should translators have an overall grasp of the dialects of authors of TCM classics, but the knowledge of TCM theory and TCM exegetics should be particularly acquired. This paper takes
Treatise on Febrile Diseases as an example to explore the interpretation path of dialects in the translation of TCM classics,so as to guide the translator to accurately grasp the semantics of the original text and achieve equivalent conversion between the translated text and the original text at the level of meaning expression, and finally lay a solid language foundation for the international communication of Chinese medicine.
