Abstract: The research on translation theory has been strengthened and interdisciplinary translation studies with more than 60 different names have appeared in China since 1980s.Based on a CNKI research with the names as keywords, the author presents a critical review of their application and acceptability.It is found that only a few of them, such as eco-translatology and aesthetic studies of translation, have succeeded in the interdisciplinary research and the great majority of them have limited impact on translation practice and translation studies.
