On Perspective, Focus and Tendency of Translation Studies at the Age of Globalization: An Interview with Professor Wang Ning

This article, in the form of an interview, expounds Professor Wang Ning's deep theoretical thinking on translation studies at the age of globalization. As a pioneer scholar of "Cultural Turn" in Chinese translation studies, Professor Wang incorporates translation studies into the category of cultural studies of the global era, and from the perspective of a Chinese scholar, makes a farsighted discussion on such issues as essence of translation, focus of translation studies, tendency of their future, the path of integrating into the world literature for Chinese Literature and strategies adopted in Chinese literature translation and so on. This demonstrates his broad cross-cultural and interdisciplinary vision of translation studies as well as a strong theoretical criticism and foresight.
