Abstract
The present article takes the 83 letters among the translator, the editors, the publisher, the scholars and the readers in the early 1980s,collected in the Chinese Literature Translation Archive at the University of Oklahoma,as an exemplar to study Howard Goldblatt's translation through the translation process of Six Chapters from My Life "Downunder".It aims to attract more attention to the study of translation processes. As the results of the study indicate, the study of translation processes will provide translation evaluation with new dimensions, translation teaching with new materials, and translation study with new ideas,so as to contribute more to the "Going Out" of Chinese Literature.
