Information Structure and Double Object Construction in Mandarin

This paper investigates the possible syntactic and semantic relations between two types of double object constructions (DOCs), i.e., the send-type and the steal-type DOCs, in Mandarin, on the basis of information structure.Though different in the ways of their syntactic structuring and indefiniteness realization, these two types of DOCs share the same syntactic composition, i.e., bi-verbal construction and their generations are both information-driven.
