Abstract
Since its first complete Chinese version published in 1920, Manifesto of the Communist Party in China in the past hundred years has witnessed various interpretations of its thoughts at different times and represented the historical process of the Marxism localization in China.The interpretation of terms and notions is the core embodiment of ideological translation, reflecting the diachronic changes of social demand and translators' planning.This paper concerns itself with comparative analysis of the changes of the translation of key terms including spectre, bourgeois and proletarians, property/private property, and country/nation, etc.and their relevant connotations in Manifesto of the Communist Party based on seven Chinese versions in the past century, and analyzes the translation strategies and motivations of different versions to reveal the changes and significance of the translation of key terms in Manifesto of the Communist Party in China.
