Children's Zero Anaphora Understanding and Co-narrative Construction under Contextual Functional Pressure

Abstract
For Chinese children who have acquired the basic ability of using the zero anaphora to maintain topic chain and organize discourses, they will encounter hindered meaning construction caused by topic chain interruptions in the process of constructing narration.The misunderstanding of the zero anaphora antecedent is an important but not the only factor that causes this phenomenon.Children's partial blockade effect of clauses, caused by the limitation of cognitive domain development which suppresses their perception of contextual functional pressure, will lead information flow to break away from topic control, thus hindering further narrative construction.On the other hand, the conflict between the children's grasp of multiple spatiotemporal features in the common narrative pattern and the development of "current time consciousness" and its language representation is another important reason.
