The Debate Between the Name and Nature of Translatological Approach to Communication Studies：Issues and Approaches

Translation is a special form of communication and there is a natural connection between translation and communication. Chinese scholars have proposed establishing a discipline which integrates translation studies and communication studies and have carried out numerous researches, which is innovative and has positive impact on both fields. However, much work needs to be done in the interpretation of “name and nature” of the discipline and relevant research. Addressing these problems can contribute to the understanding of the sub-discipline and expanding its research path, thereby helping develop China’s translation and international communication capabilities.
