Abstract:
This article aims to analyze the development of interdisciplinary research between linguistics and genetics, and uses bibliometric methods to statistically analyze relevant literature in the WoS core database from 1957 to 2022. The results show that interdisciplinary research between linguistics and genetics is on the rise. The strongest integration of knowledge between the two does not exist in these two disciplines, but in comprehensive disciplines and anthropology. The main journals carrying cross-research between the two include
American Journal of Physical Anthropology, Human Biology, PLoS ONE, etc. In the field of linguistics, knowledge about language evolution, language emergence, and language talent are more likely to intersect with genetics. In the field of genetics, knowledge about population genes, Y-chromosomes, and ancient DNA are more likely to collide with linguistics.
