译员信息加工的体验认知神经机制实证研究

The Cognitive Neural Mechanism of the Interpreter’s Information Processing: An Embodied Cognition Approach

  • 摘要: 口译信息加工是口译员通过记忆对语言感知、储存、提取、转换和输出的过程,是口译认知过程研究的核心。本研究旨在研究口译员在体验与非体验条件下信息加工过程的认知神经机制。基于体验认知理论,采用三角测量法,即口译语料库、脑功能成像和有声反思报告(TAP)进行多元互证。结果发现,实验组译员通过身体体验,在信息处理的认知方面,较之于没有体验的控制组译员,具有更强的输出口译表现。两组译员输出最为衔接和连贯的部分是半体验概念,信息宽泛,付出认知努力最低;其次为体验概念,信息密集,付出认知努力加大;最后为非体验概念,信息抽象,付出认知努力最大。译员所付出的认知努力与原语文本在信息结构上难度一致。本课题揭示译员英-汉口译过程的体验认知神经机制,构建基于体验认知的口译信息加工模型,以便有助于口译理论研究与教学,为“一带一路”培养应用型与复合型的翻译人才。

     

    Abstract: The interpreter in interpreting is engaged in language perception, storage, retrieval, conversion and output of information. Information processing is an essential area in interpreting studies. This research aims to explore the cognitive neural mechanism of the interpreter’s information processing, in both embodied and disembodied contexts, from an Embodied Cognition perspective. The data was collected from interpreting corpora, Think Aloud Protocols (TAPs) and fMRI. The findings show that the interpreter trainees in the experimental group, due to embodied experience, outperformed the interpreter trainees in the control group in information processing and output. In addition, the two contrastive groups show a regular pattern of mental effort in processing the source textual structures. The best interpreted coherent section is the semi-embodied information, followed by the section representing embodied concepts, finally by the section representing non-embodied concepts. It may shed light on the theoretical research and pedagogical practice in interpreting, and especially on the cultivation of interdisciplinary translation talents for the Belt and Road Initiative.
