Mapping Chinese Scholars’ Interpreting Studies Published in International Journals (2005–2024): A CiteSpace-based Bibliometric Study

This study investigates the international presence of Chinese scholars in interpreting studies, a field that has witnessed remarkable growth yet lacks systematic review. Drawing on over 200 articles published between 2005 and 2024 in SSCI and A&HCI journals, the analysis employs CiteSpace to construct a knowledge map of research trends. While challenges remain, including thematic imbalance and limited theoretical autonomy, Chinese scholars are increasingly contributing to international interpreting studies by expanding interdisciplinary integration, innovating methodological paradigms, and strengthening theoretical frameworks, thereby infusing the field with localised empirical evidence and theoretical perspectives grounded in the Chinese context.
