语言研究中的意识形态: 概念梳理、角色界定、理论思考

Ideology in Linguistic Studies: Scrutinizing the Concept, Investigating Its Role and Reflecting on Theoretical Innovations

摘要:

意识形态"不仅是政治研究中的概念, 也是语言研究中的概念。意识形态与语言使用的紧密联系使其在近30年的社会语言学、语用学和批评话语分析研究中得到广泛关注和深入研究。对"意识形态"概念在语言研究中的含义进行梳理, 发现其具有四个明显特征, 即"心理意识"特征、"社会立场"特征、"权力关系"特征和"话语体现"特征。对相关研究进行分析, 界定出"意识形态"在语言研究中扮演的三个角色: 1)在批评话语分析领域意识形态是语言研究揭示的内容, 2)在语用学领域它是论证的课题, 3)在社会语言学领域它是语言研究借助的工具。这些讨论突显语言研究将语言运用作为社会实践进行研究的趋势, 有助于探究言说者的能动性, 通过探究意识形态在语言研究中的角色和作用促进语言学理论创新。

Abstract:

Ideology, normally a concept in political studies, is also a key concern in sociolinguistics, pragmatics and critical discourse analysis in the last thirty years.Reviewing relevant studies of ideology in these linguistic fields, this article identifies four features of the concept of ideology in linguistic studies, namely, ideology being characteristic in terms of consciousness, social position, power relation, and discourse realization.The article continues its investigation by highlighting three roles ideology plays in linguistic studies, namely, ideology being the content linguistic study is to reveal, the issues linguistic study investigates, and the tool by which linguistic research is to be done.Finally, the article relates what is discussed here with relevant issues at home, proposing that further concern of ideology in linguistic studies is needed for a better understanding of speaker's agency in the process of decoding the social meaning of language use as well as for theoretical innovations.
